Marian Anderson

Marian Anderson, a Philadelphia-born contralto, broke racial barriers with her extraordinary voice and resilience. Denied a performance at Constitution Hall in 1939 due to segregation, she gave a historic concert at the Lincoln Memorial, inspiring millions.

As a trailblazer in classical music, Anderson’s legacy symbolizes unity, dignity, and the fight for equality in America. Enjoy the show!
